In einer internationalen Follow-up-Studie wurde der Zusammenhang zwischen der Exposition bei extrem niederfrequenten Magnetfeldern und dem Überleben bei akuter lymphatischer Leukämie im Kindesalter untersucht. Die gepoolte Analyse basierte auf den Daten folgender Studien aus Kanada (McBride et al., 1999), Dänemark (Olsen et al., 1993), Deutschland (Michaelis et al., 1998), Neuseeland (Dockerty et al., 1999), Schweden (Feychting et al., 1993), Großbritannien (UK Childhood Cancer Study Investigators, 1999), USA (Linet et al., 1997), Deutschland (Schüz et al., 2001), Japan (Kabuto et al., 2006) und USA (Foliart et al., 2006).
