20 Blut-Proben zweier Altersgruppen (10 Spender 16-20 Jahre alt, 10 Spender 50-65 Jahre alt) wurden mit PHAstimuliert, bei drei verschiedenen spezifischen Absorptionsratenexponiert und untersucht. Es wurden Positivkontrollen für jede Blut-Probe und jeden Test durchgeführt. Die Studie war eine Zusammenarbeit von sechs unabhängigen Instituten. Die genotoxischen Experimente wurden in einem Institut durchgeführt und von drei unterschiedlichen Instituten ausgewertet. Weitere drei Institute waren für die Blut-Abnahme und die Exposition, das Expositions-Design, und die statistischen Auswertungen zuständig.
