This in vivo study was performed to study the effects of single or repeated radio frequency exposure (900 and 1800 MHz GSM) on rat skin.
As marker of stress response due to the radiofrequency exposure the heat shock proteins Hsp25, Hsp70, and Hsc70 were measured.
The hairless skin of ten week-old female rats received local exposure. UV-B radiated rats served as positive controls. Additionally, sham exposure and cage control werde performed. Each experimental group consisted of eight animals.
