この研究は、著者らが以前に報告した両生類モデルでのホメオパシー研究について再現実験を行うと同時に、市販の携帯電話の電磁界がその効果に影響を与えるか否かを調べた。先行研究は、ヨーロッパアカガエル（highland rana temporaria）の2本足から4本足への変態のサイロキシンによる促進効果が、ホメオパシー希釈されたサイロキシン液（サイロキシンD30：1030倍の希釈液）により阻害されることを報告した。今回の研究では、研究に用いるサイロキシンのD30と水のD30（対照溶液）に携帯電話電磁界ばく露を事前に与えた。過剰刺激された４群（それぞれオタマジャクシ20匹からなる。実験的にサイロキシンによる成長促進刺激を受けた）の水槽にサイロキシンD30および水D30の電磁界ばく露されたものとばく露されないもの、計４種類をそれぞれ添加した。その結果、サイロキシンD30を添加された群は、水D30添加群に比べ、変態の速度が有意に低下した；電磁界ばく露を受けたサイロキシンD30の添加群での変態速度は水D30添加群のものと差がなかったことから、ホメオパシー希釈駅の効果は、携帯電話電磁界ばく露により阻害された、と報告している。

The authors introduced an amphibian-model where thyroxine D30 (dilution 1:1030) exerts an inhibitory effect on thyroxine-induced accelerated metamorphosis.
Thyroxine D30 and water D30 (test solution) were exposed to a mobile phone. Four groups (each group 20 tadpoles: highland frogs, Rana temporaria) were hyperstimulated (=experimental acceleration of growth through molecular thyroxine) in thyroxine-baths. Thyroxine 30 and water 30 were added.

The approximate field strength of the mobile phone was measured for the GSM900 and the GSM1800 up- and downlink frequency band in stand-by and during 50 call setups by placing it near a probe having a surface of 100 cm².

Hyperstimulated animals, that were treated with thyroxine D30 metamorphosed significantly slower than the water D30 treated animals (control group). The values of the group that was treated with the exposed thyroxine D30 revealed no differences compared to the water D30 treated animals (control group).
The effectiveness of the homeopathic solution was inhibited, when it was exposed to a mobile phone.
