国際がん研究機関(JARC)は、携帯電話が健康悪影響を引き起こすか否かを明らかにすることを目的として一連の多国による症例対照研究を組織し、推進している。もしRFが発がん性であれば、携帯電話使用に関連する可能性が高いと思われる聴神経鞘腫、神経膠腫、髄膜腫、耳下腺腫瘍に関する疫学研究が実施されている。参加国は、オーストラリア、カナダ、デンマーク、フィンランド、フランス、ドイツ、イスラエル、イタリア、日本、ニュージーランド、ノルウェー、スウェーデン、英国。
