To investigate the effects of microwaves emitted by cell phones on sperms and total antioxidant capacity in rats.
Four groups were examined (n=7 per group): 1.) control group, 2.) exposure to 915 MHz-microwaves for 14 days, 3.) exposure to 915 MHz-microwaves for 21 days and 4.) exposure to 950 MHz-microwaves for 14 days.

No differences were found between the groups regarding the number and morphology of sperms. The sperm viability, the sperm motility and the sperm antioxidative capacity were significantly decreased in all exposure groups (group 2, 3 and 4) compared to the control group. Furthermore, in group 3 (exposure for 21 days) the sperm viability and the sperm motility were additionally significantly decreased compared to group 2 (exposure for 14 days).
