Cell biology. Named after Camillo Golgi, 1843-1926. A complex cuplike structure within eukaryotic cells. Golgi complexes are membrane sites of the formation of the carbohydrate side chains of glycoproteins and mucopolysaccharides and play a role in storage and transport.
