Extremely low frequency alternating fields are in the frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 1 kHz. The upper limit of the frequency range is not standardized, for example it is set at 300 Hz by the WHO. Extremely low frequency alternating fields are generated by technical appliances such as power lines, wiring and household appliances. There are two different types of extremely low frequency alternating fields: electric fields (Electric fields) and magnetic fields (Magnetic fields). No extremely low frequency alternating fields occur in nature.
