The radiofrequency range generally covers frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum (Electromagnetic spectrum) between 30 kHz and 300 GHz. The range between 30 kHz to 10 MHz is allocated to the intermediate frequencies (Intermediate frequency (1 kHz–10 MHz)). More specifically designated frequency ranges in the radiofrequency range are radio waves, microwaves (Electromagnetic spectrum) and the centimeter and millimeter waves. In the EMF-Portal, the border between the low frequency and radiofrequency ranges is drawn at 10 MHz, because it is assumed that the typical thermal effects of radiofrequency fields only occur above 10 MHz.
