Communications engineering. TETRA is an open digital trunked radio standard defined by the European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute (ETSI). TETRA is particularly suitable for organizations with security tasks and can be divided into TETRA/BOS and TETRAPOL according to their access type. Frequencies are in a range from 385 – 390 MHz combined with 395 – 400 MHz (Europe-wide reserved for BOS), 410 – 430 MHz, 450 – 470 MHz and 870 – 876 MHz combined with 915 – 921 MHz (for commercial usage).
