Published in: 2005 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology 27th Annual Conference, Shanghai. IEEE, 2005: pp. 1268-1269; ISBN 978-0-7803-8741-6

Aim of study (acc. to author)

The study was performed to gain an understanding of the parameters for the lysing of eukaryotic cells using a pulse of AC electric field.

Background/further details

AC pulses of varying pulse width were used.

Main outcome of study (acc. to author)

The data show different percentages of cell lysis of SWLA-2 murine hybridomas produced by AC electric field pulses at 1 kHz with pulse widths ranging from 1 ms to 1 second. However, heating may have contributed to cell lysis.
