These functions include the regulation of body temperature, circadian rhythm, blood pressure, respiration, appetite, fat metabolism, fluid content, sexual function, etc. The hypothalamus further synthesizes a number of endocrine compounds, e.g. corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH).
