Statistics. One of the most common statistical test for comparing the means ot two different groups. The t-test determines the probability that the two groups are the same with respect to the investigated variable (e.g., body weight of male and female students). It can be also used to compare the means of a sample and a population (e.g., body weight of students and the general population), or of the same sample at two different points in time (e.g., body weight of students at the start and the end of the term).
