pheochromocytoma

Oncology. A tumor of the chromaffin cells of the adrenal gland which produces noradrenaline, adrenaline and dopamin and is benign in 90 % . The cardinal symptom is chronic or intermittent hypertension. A diagnosis can be made using a urine test which measures the quantity of adrenaline byproducts.
