Cell biology. Abbr. of anomalous viscosity time dependencies. A not yet established method for determining changes in DNA conformation and DNA-protein bonds. It is based on the inward directed migration of large DNA-protein complexes in a rotary viscometer. The changes of viscosity is shown by plotting the period of rotation, which is proportional to viscosity, as a function of time.
