PubMed is a biomedical literature retrieval system that contains over 23 million citations and abstracts from about 5,600 journals, dating back to 1966. PubMed was developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM), located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.
