Biochemistry. A growth factor belonging to the cytokines. TGF-alpha is secreted by tumor cells and stimulates the cell proliferation and the growth of vessels (vascularization). TGF-beta is secreted by many different cell types, mainly by thrombocytes, and stimulates wound healing.
