Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

Reduction in Purkinje fiber number in rats undergone fatal electrocution med./bio.

Published in: Am J Forensic Med Pathol 2012; 33 (1): 19-21

Aim of study (acc. to author)

To investigate the changes in the structure of Purkinje fibers in cardiac tissue following fatal electrocution in rats.

Background/further details

Sixteen rats were divided into two groups: the electrocution group (n=8) and the control group (n=8). All animals were anesthetized. In the electrocution group, the eight rats underwent fatal electrocution, followed by cervical dislocation. In the control group, the eight rats were executed by cervical dislocation alone.
