Effects of Sinusoidal 0.5 mT Magnetic Field on Leukocyte Adherence Inhibition med./bio.

Published in: Electromagn Biol Med 2004; 23 (2): 81-96

Aim of study (acc. to author)

Leukocyte adherence inhibition assay (as measure of cell-mediated immunity) was used to study the effect of a 0.5 mT magnetic field on adherence properties of T lymphocytes taken from healthy humans and cancer patients before and after medical treatment (surgery and chemotherapy).

Main outcome of study (acc. to author)

Adherence of T lymphocytes from healthy humans and from cancer patients before and after medical treatment is enhanced after 1 h exposure to the magnetic field as compared to sham exposure. The data indicate an effect of 50 Hz magnetic field (0.5 mT) on immunity function in humans.
