Communications engineering. GSM modulation scheme. The signals are amplitude modulated by rectangular pulses with a repetition frequency of 217 Hz, a pulse width of 4.61 ms and a duty cycle of 1:8 (1 of 8 time slots). The basic frame has a period of 4.61 ms and contains eight 570 microsec time slots including 28 microsec rising and falling edges. Twenty-six frames make up a GSM multiframe and 104 frames a GSM intermediate multiframe (IMF).
