Air cleaner

Belongs to:
Climatization
Description:

An air cleaner is an electric appliance for the ionization of room air with dust binding effect. During the process, ozone is generated which does not only have a disinfecting effect but can also decompose odor-forming molecules. The main electric processing unit is the ionizer which causes alternating electric and magnetic fields at the fundamental frequency of 50 Hz respective 60 Hz through high voltage. Further, non-electrical components are e.g. an active carbon filter that restrains the spread of bacteria and mould spores or a photocatalytic filter for disinfection.

Frequency ranges:
  • 50–60 Hz
Type of field:
electric and magnetic

Measurements (acc. to literature)

Measurand Value Feature Remarks
magnetic flux density 2–5 µT (maximum) - at a distance of 30 cm [1]
magnetic flux density 11–25 µT (maximum) - at a distance of 15 cm [1]
