Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

Electromagnetic wave emitting products and "Kikoh" potentiate human leukocyte functions med./bio.

Published in: Int J Biometeorol 1993; 37 (3): 133-138

Aim of study (acc. to author)

To investigate the effects of electromagnetic wave emitting matter (e.g. hot spring water, electric stone) and so called "Kikohshi" (a person who heals by laying on of hands) on human leukocyte function and the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids in vitro. All the investigated matter is supposed to emit far infrared rays with 4-14 μm (which is about 30 THz).

Main outcome of study (acc. to author)

The results of this study show that human leukocytes can be affected by materials capable of emitting far infrared electromagnetic radiation in vitro. The mechanism for these observations is not known.
