Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

The effect of exposure of acetylcholinesterase to 2,450-MHz microwave radiation med./bio.

Published in: Bioelectromagnetics 1984; 5 (2): 165-172

Aim of study (acc. to author)

To investigate the effect of microwave radiation on the enzyme acetylcholinesterase in vitro during exposure. The enzyme was isolated from the electroplax tissue of the ray Narcine brasiliensis. Electroplax tissue as found in electric fishes are a good source for acetylcholinesterase due to the fact that these specialised muscle fibres generate extremely high voltages in response to nervous stimulation.
